I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have been there supporting me throughout this year. My FYP team members, a job well done. My FBF badminton members, my last gold medal with you people. All the best in your future undertakings. I would like to thank my parents who have been supporting and guiding me throughout my tertiary studies. I am blessed to know a bunch of good friends in Kampar through sports, drinking and other activities.

Upon graduation, I started working in SumiMa Sdn Bhd. Would like to express my gratitude towards my seniors, boss and my dad who have supported me endlessly. Without their guidance and leadership, I will not be who I am at this moment. Will continue to improve myself and not to let them down. Besides that, would like to thank my business associate for their continuos support for the past 6 months. DO MO ALIGATO! =D

Doing fine this year, enjoying sports and having good time with my buddies. As for relationship, still finding it hard to deal with it. Though I thought it will be a good one, end up it was the one and it was not as smooth as it seems. Perhaps, I expect too much from the girl. Well, one of my new year resolution in 2012, is to get a gf. Not just getting a gf, is to get someone that makes me think of settling down and plan for future. Honeymoon is over for me, more responsibilities to be bear next year. Studying is always the best, no worries, just need to attend classes and sit for exams. Don't you agree? However, time to be realistic and accept those resposibilities.

Alright guys, what have you achieve this year? Did you meet your targets? What are your targets for next year?

Trip to Kampar on 18/11/2011

18/11/2011, took a half day leave and went Kampar as I have promised my friend earlier on to join the team in a badminton friendly match. It was a meaningful return as I missed them so much, not to mentioned the fun and exciting moments that we used to have when I was still studying in Utar, Kampar.

Reached Kampar around 4.30pm, had bak kut teh with Tele Ming, Seong Ny and Richard. Man, I miss the Bak Kut Teh so much. After that, lepak in Telechoice till 7pm before heading Ming's place and played with his two little kids.

Friendly game started at 8pm. I partnered Seong Ny, played against Hoe (Kampar Champion) & Jason. First set was close, we lose 21-23, second game we did not played good and we lose 13-21. 7 pairs of each team were involved. Promix Team vs Wave Team, final results were 4-3. It was a great return match as Promix has won.

After the game, we continued playing for leisure. Then we went Jeram and had supper, 15 of us ate up to RM180 in a mamak stall. Haha, it was fun and funny. I had fun! Soon later, went back to Ming's house and put up a night there.

Perhaps I should go Kampar again during 2012 Jan! Till then, Promix forever. =)

Well..first of all, congratulation to my colleague Mr Jason Law who found his sweetheart and got married on 5th November. Was a little busy during that week as guests from Sumitomo Singapore, Sumitomo Tokyo, ex-NBPT MD attended Jason's wedding. There were golfing, meetings, lunch and dinners for respective parties to attend. Nevertheless, it was a great experience. I gained so much during that week. Experience that I will never get through paperwork.

I am no longer attached. My colleagues are nagging me on that point! Asking me WHY WHY WHY, telling THIS THIS THIS!! >.< Especially during wedding night, I sat between them, PITY ME! I just realized that I did not take much photos lately. All my fb profile pics are abit outdated. Not to mentioned that I have put on some weight. Need to watch my diet, dad is keeping an eye on it. Haha, cool dad I ever have.

Have been playing badminton quite often for the past 3 weeks, I am going back Kampar this coming Friday for a friendly game and catch up with my friends over there. Will definitely take some pics and upload on my fb and blog. Have been ignoring my blog for quite some time. Sorry fwingyew blogspot! LOL....

Looking forward to December, YOU know why. Right? Can't wait to see you.

New Scam in Singapore

VERY SOPHISTICATED WAY OF CHEATING - be wary of those who come bearing gifts. You may like to circulate this to your friends. Just happen last week in Singapore.

Hi everyone,

I want to let you all know that Frank and I have been the victims of credit card fraud this week and felt I should warn you all about the clever scam. It works like this:

Last Wednesday I had a phone call late morning from Express Couriers to ask if I was going to be home as he had a delivery for me. He said he would there in roughly an hour. He turned up with a beautiful basket of flowers and wine. I expressed my surprise as I wasn't expecting anything like this and said I was intrigued to know who was sending me such a lovely gift. He said he was only delivering the gift and the card was being sent separately (the card has never
arrived).There was a consignment note with the gift.

He went on to explain that because the gift contained alcohol he has to charge the recipient $3.50 as proof that he has actually delivered to an adult, and not left it on a door step if the recipient is out, to be stolen or taken by children. This seemed logical and I offered to get the cash.

He then said that the company required the payment to be by EFTPOS so he's not handling cash and everything is properly accounted for. Frank was there and got his credit card and 'John' swiped the card on this small mobile machine that also had a small screen upon which Frank entered in his pin number. A receipt was printed out and given to us.

Between last Thursday and Monday $4,000 was withdrawn from our credit account at ATM machines in the north shore area. It appears a dummy credit card was made using the details in the machine and of course, they had Frank's pin number. The Bank has stopped our cards and I've been to the Police this morning, where they confirmed that it is a definite scam and many households were hit during the first 3 days of October.

So PLEASE be wary of accepting a gift you're not expecting especially if the card is not with it. We've all received gifts like this and would never dream that it could be such a despicable act. Please also let other female friends and relatives know. Hopefully, these fraudsters have ceased this activity by now but you never know.

Convocation 11092011

Parents are happy! =)

Alright people...Quick update, have abandoned my blog for quite a long time. Graduated on May 2011, convocation was held in Wisma MCA, Jalan Ampang, 11/09/2011! It was a memorable day for all graduates, their parents too.

As for me, I have started working in SumiMa Sdn Bhd since 01 June 2011. Friends kept asking me, why do I start working so fast? Why don't I take another 2 months break first? My answer is pretty simple, I dont have that kinda money to spend for another 2 months. The faster I start working, the better equipped I will be. If you wish to know what I am working as in SumiMa, call me out and we can have a chat. Not going to mention my job scope here.

3 months have passed, these 3 months I have learned really alot, not just about doing business, also how to manage yourself financially and emotionally. Need time to adjust financially, emotionally it was tough as I have to endure hardship and it was one heck of tough ride. I am still learning and I will keep improving myself. I have put on some weight, dad has been teasing me now and then. Gotta do something about it. Probation period is over, time to be more initiative, devoted in my job.

Master degree? Do it while working? Manage myself financially (MUST SAVE AMOUNT), savings for future. Its time for me to seriously sit down and plan accordingly. s

SOYA BEAN

All of us know that soyabean drink provides good protein to our body... but many of us don't know that there are certain days we should avoid drinking it.

Soya bean drinks are best consumed on hot sunny days when the sun is strong. The soya milk will give lots of nutrients to the body as the body is able to absorb the protein well.

However, avoid the drink when the weather is cloudy or raining. Taking the drink in that weather, the body will not be able to take in the protein and will result in a disease called ‘GOUT’ or 'high acidic urine' due to the high protein residue in the body, after a long run.

This disease will cause pain to your knee joints and it will only be in control when you control your food intake of proteins and medication. The pain is unbearable and usually you will have no idea what you have taken to cause the pain. Food like soya beans, anchovies, broccoli, spinach, peanuts, & n esp animal organs ( i.e. pork liver) etc will have to be avoided to prevent the pain from attacking.

Spore 2011 budget....fantastic !

Subject: Spore 2011 budget

Makes my blood boils! WAKE UP!!!

I was in Spore when their 2011 budget was tabled. There were two items that impressed me most .... can't remember all :

Growth and share concept: Spore govt will give away cash amounting to SGD800 to individuals and between SGD5000 - 2000 per household. The estimated per household should average SGD3000 !!

How can they afford this? Simple-- the Spore govt owns all public utilities eg Electricity, water, MRT and investment arms like Tumasek and sovereign funds. Profits from these organisations are distributed back to their citizens, with the rich getting minimal and the lower income group getting the larger share.

How does that compare with our BN govt? Cronies get richer by the days and subsidies are cut. Yes, for political expediencies our PM gives away RM200 to selected constituents for their votes only !! Big joke!!

Employers CPF contributions are increased to ensure workers can have more money when they retire.

What goodies do we have for our 2011 budget? Spend more on arms and patrol crafts that costs RM 1 Billion EACH! Computers procured at RM 40,000 EACH, Costs overrun on almost all govt projects. Don't forget....all these have cuts to put unto the corrupted Politicians'pockets !

What do you expect when we have a bunch of idiots mainly of one race type running this country compared to S’pore who have the brains and that is why S’pore is developed and successful. As long as this bunch of idiots are still around Malaysia will continue to be where it started. They only know how to talk and bad mouth about others and refuse to accept their mistakes. Their pride is in showing off and nothing but Islamic !

This is BN, so come the next election throw them out…….don’t worry if Pakatan can run this country because when the Egyptians went to the street to throw their President out they don’t even know what their future lies for them and whether if there is a leader to replace their current President.

Their objective was to get rid of him and they stay focus…….in Malaysia we have capable leaders in Pakatan to rule this country so there is nothing to be afraid of voting them into power. We have nothing to lose but more to gain because after 53 years – enough is enough…do it for the future generations.

With BN there is no future because these idiots only look after their own future. Get rid of Bumiputras and non Bumiputras concept...all are equal and Malaysians ! Nothing for you and me. WAKE UP !!!!

Slew of Budget goodies unveiled

Singaporeans will receive a total of S$6.6 billion of benefits in the 2011 Singapore Budget announced by Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam on Friday.

$3.2 billion Grow and Share Package: The average Singaporean household will receive S$3,500 from this year’s Budget. This will come from the S$3.2 billion to be spent on the “Grow and Share Package” and S$3.4 billion in longer-term Social Investments for households this year.

All adult Singaporeans will also receive Growth Dividends to share the fruits of last year’s exceptional economic growth. The majority of Singaporeans – 80% – will get $600 to $800 each.

CPF rate revision: The Government will raise the employer contribution rate to CPF accounts by another 0.5 percentage points, from 15.5% to 16%, which will restore the total contribution, rate to 36%. The additional 0.5% will go into the Special Account.

The Government will also revise the CPF salary ceiling from $4,500 to $5,000 per month to keep pace with income growth in recent years. This will align the salary ceiling back to the 80th percentile income, and help middle-income Singaporeans.

Radio and TV licence fees removed permanently: The annual licence fee of S$110 for televisions and S$27 for vehicle radios will be removed with immediate effect. Those who have not paid this year’s fees will not have to make the payment, while a refund will be given to those who have already paid.

Mr Tharman said that’s because the fees are losing their relevance. He said televisions are no longer limited to middle and higher-income groups, with 99 per cent of lower-income households owning them today.

Tax cuts: Singaporeans will receive a personal income tax rebate of 20% for individual resident taxpayers for YA 2011. The rebate will be capped at $2,000. Taxes will be reduced significantly for middle and upper-middle income families. Marginal tax rates will be reduced for first S$120,000 of chargeable income.

Levy increase for foreign workers: The Government will also introduce more levy increases on foreign workers for all sectors this year. Most of the additional measures will be phased in at six-monthly intervals, starting only from 1 January 2012, and extending till 1 July 2013, one year beyond the previous schedule.

S$10 billion home upgrading: $10 billion will be spent to upgrade homes and rejuvenate estates over the next 10 years. This is a major effort to preserve the value of HDB flats and will go towards the Home Improvement Programme (HIP), Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) and Lift Upgrading Programme (LUP), it will invest up to $55,000 per flat.

Low-income groups will also receive additional housing subsidies to better afford their homes. The Government will set aside S$175 million each year for the new Special CPF Housing Grant to help the bottom 50% Singapore households own their homes.

LESSON No 1 - BE AMBITIOUS

The Chinese believe in Setting Goals, Making Plans, & Focusing on Moving Ahead - there is always the sense of forward motion. As an example, a huge 6-lane highway in Shanghai took only 2 years from planning to ready for traffic. In the US, 2 years will only get you the environment and local authority permit if you are lucky - in Malaysia in 2 years, they will still be calculating how to inflate the costs, and to whose abang-adik company to award the project. People in Klang would know that to build a very short fly-over, it took them double that time and guess what...the jam is not significantly reduce during peak hours.

LESSON No 2 - EDUCATION MATTERS

The Chinese are obsessed with ensuring kids get the right education - English, Maths & Science. They made sure that their education system reached even the most remote rural areas - today the literacy rate in China is OVER 90%, surpassing even the USA's 86%. According to American Educationists, the Chinese kids are way ahead of the kids in the USA. Meanwhile in Malaysia, our Moo-Moo politicians are determined to retract our education system into the stone age. Speaking English has been labelled as "weird".

LESSON No 3 - LOOK AFTER THE ELDERLY

The Chinese DO NOT send their elderly to nursing care centers - they personally look after & care for their parents.

In the US, nursing care of the elderly is now costing each resident USD 85,000 annually & this is rising. The Chinese also believe that the grandparents at home make the best tutors for their children. It also provides a sense of cultural continuity - this helps bind society.

Here it's a growing trend to have children brought up by maids of the lowest educational & moral quality - so our children (the future leaders) grow up with similar language & outlook capability.

LESSON No 4 - SAVE MORE

In China, the savings rate for every household has exceeded 20%. The Chinese believe that frugality & a healthy savings rate are a sure indicator of a country's financial health. High savings lead to increased investments - results in increased productivity, innovation & job growth.

In the USA, savings dropped to zero in 2005, and is only now slowly rising to 4%.

In the West & aped by our Malaysians, the status symbol is to spend more than you earn, with as many credit cards as possible. In the end, the whole country gets into debt. The only ones that can save a lot, maybe 2000 % or more are the corrupt politicians!

LESSON No 5 - LOOK OVER THE HORIZON

In China, everyone is forward looking - never backwards. New graduates make a vow - never ever will their children & grandchildren ever work in the fields again. With this kind of forward mentality, people are always thinking & planning how, not just to succeed, BUT how to be the best in the world in everything they do.

In Malaysia, we are still, after 24 years, trying to get the power windows of the Protons to work properly, our Muslim Fundamentalists want us to adopt medieval syariah laws. and our government wants the people to be like frogs under the coconut shell so that they can be easily manupilated and "controlled".

It’s a Small Cup After All

THE Prime Minister declared a public holiday. Just because the national football team won the AFF Suzuki Cup, involving Asean nations.

The Youth and Sports Minister said financial incentives would be given to the members of the team.

The MIC president asked for a datukship to be given to K Rajagopal, the coach.

The mainstream media went to town with its coverage of Malaysia’s victory over Indonesia in the final, with newspapers devoting pages to the news, including their front page, hailing the players as “heroes”.

Muzium Negara is going to hold an exhibition showcasing the team’s success in winning the Cup.

Please! We are going overboard!

Our football team did well and deserves to be congratulated. We should commend everyone who played a part in its victory and tell them they did a good job, and wish them future successes.

They should be praised for their courage in the second leg of the final for facing a hostile Indonesian crowd in Jakarta and losing by only 1-2.

And then we should move on.

What is the real agenda in declaring a public holiday? We didn’t win the World Cup; we merely won a tournament featuring the nations of ASEAN, a small regional grouping in the context of the big world out there.

Only eight teams participated in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 – the highest-ranked among them according to FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) was Thailand, at the 121st spot. Another participant, Laos, was the lowest among them, at number 167, out of 203 footballing nations.

Malaysia itself is ranked number 144.

So what’s the big deal in winning the Cup to warrant the declaration of a public holiday? If Malaysia had won the Asian Cup, that might have been something more to crow about. Although that still would not warrant a public holiday.

We sound like a desperate footballing nation clutching on to a small trophy and declaring it a blue ribbon. To outsiders looking in, we must appear a laughing stock.

Declaring a public holiday for a low-level achievement is sending out the wrong message and inculcating the wrong values.

It’s saying we don’t have to bother about standards, so we can celebrate mediocrity. The values cultivated from this are obviously negative: we don’t have to do really well in order to be rewarded handsomely. Hasn’t this been our national malady in the last few decades?

It’s also important to consider that one swallow does not make a summer. Our team’s victory this time in a competition involving Asia’s football minnows is not an automatic sign that bigger achievements are in the offing. As it is, we didn’t even qualify for the Asian Cup 2011.

By all means, we should give due encouragement to the team and build on their Suzuki Cup success, but big-scale celebrations are certainly premature. The rewards for now should be modest and proportionate to the achievement.

Giving a datukship to the coach would cheapen the value of such titles, if they are not already questionable in some cases. Let Rajagopal take Malaysia to the second round of the World Cup finals, then talk about giving him a title. That would be some achievement; although even to qualify for it is, at this point, unimaginable.

So why do we want to swell the heads of our footballers? Hasn’t it been the Malaysian hubris to laud sportspeople as heroes before their time has come? And then when they perform the next time on a bigger stage and falter, would it really be their fault if they failed to live up to our expectations?

So, instead of giving substantial financial incentives to the players, why not use the money to provide better training facilities?

Was Prime Minister Najib Razak acting responsibly in declaring a public holiday? Football is big in Malaysia, and especially among the youths, and he knows that. From the way it looked, he exploited the victory to score points and raise his popularity ratings, which could translate into votes for his party at the next general election.

But this time around, he took a cheap shot. And came out looking like an opportunist. Whichever Blue Ocean strategy he employed, it isn’t one that comes with moral considerations.

Leadership means imparting what’s right, not attempting to be populist. In fact, politics in this country has become so dirty that our leadership has lost sight of what it means to impart the right values. The most obvious example of dirty play is BN’s takeover of Perak from Pakatan Rakyat.

If that’s leadership by example, it’s no wonder that the people have also been influenced to play dirty. That’s what was manifested during the first leg of the Suzuki Cup final played in Kuala Lumpur – when Malaysian football fans flashed laser lights on the faces of the Indonesian players to distract them from playing properly. That was, to say the least, a despicable act. From whom did our football fans learn to play so dirty?

Addressing this moral issue is more important than winning tournaments. And it is this that Malaysian leaders should be doing rather than placing priority on the winning. They should be asking whether the Malaysian value system has deteriorated – and if so, why. They should be asking how it can be salvaged, and improved. And whether we have become so corrupt that we don’t know what’s right and wrong any more.

Coincidentally, as the Cup final was going on, news broke of a WikiLeaks disclosure about a government cover-up of a rape committed by a senior Malaysian Cabinet minister on his Indonesian maid three years ago. Could all this football hype be intended to distract Malaysians from that issue?

Conspiracy theorists believe it could be. If they are right, it would confirm how morally low we have sunk. Even worse if the rape report is true.

When just last week, former Israeli president Moshe Katsav was convicted on two counts of rape, sensible Malaysians would have taken heart and wondered if such a vindication of justice could ever happen in Malaysia, especially involving a former head of state. Going by the current priorities of our government, the jury is still out.

In Kuala Lumpur an old priest lay dying in the hospital.

For years he had faithfully served the people of the nation's capital.

He motioned for his nurse to come near.

"Yes, Father?" said the nurse.

"I would really like to see Najib and Muyhiddin before I die", whispered the priest.

"I'll see what I can do, Father", replied the nurse.

The nurse sent the request to Putrajaya and waited for a response.

Soon the word arrived; Prime Minister Najib and his Deputy PM Muhyiddin would be delighted to visit the priest.

As they went to the hospital, Najib commented to Muyhiddin, "I don't know why the old priest wants to see us, but it will certainly help our images and might even get me all the Christian votes. After all, I'm 'IN IT TO WIN IT".

Muyhiddin agreed that it was a good thing.

When they arrived at the priest's room, the priest took Najib's hand in his right hand and Muyhiddin's hand in his left.

There was silence and a look of serenity on the old priest's face.

Finally Najib spoke.. "Reverend, of all the people you could have chosen, why did you choose us to be with you as you near the end?"

The old priest slowly replied, "I have always tried to pattern my life after our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."

The old priest continued, "Jesus died between two goddamn liars and thieves; I would like to do the same!"

Happy New Year people! Well, I know its kinda late for me to post this. Laziness creeps in, doesn't have the mood to think and blog till today. There goes 2010, it was a year where I had ups and downs. Ermm, every year everyone will have ups and downs lar. What am I crapping here! I had happy and unforgettable memories in 2010 with you. Well, life goes on for now. I wish you and your family all the best in 2011.

During semester break, did not really do much other than playing L4d with my brothers in KL. Snooker with Seng Hang and my brother yip. Went Genting with my friends, they had a gambling session and then we chilled at Starbucks.

Xmas was fun, had a bbq session in Fai's place, beer, cigarettes, L4d again. LOL! So called 'kejahilan' of ours. I miss you guys man. Anyhow, CNY is just around the corner. Will get to hang out with you guys again.

My latest setback, got this stupid wound during futsal in Westlake. Sigh, cement ground. Lucky it is recovering now. It is recovering faster than what I've expected. It will be my last semester in Utar. No doubt that I am going to miss my friends here, I will come back whenever I can to visit them and play badminton with them. Viva in another 3 weeks time, everyone in my class is stressed out including myself. Having all sorts of weird dreams lately, cannot really sleep, mood affected as a result of insufficient sleep.

I am going to cherish this very last semester, try not to skip too many classes as I don't think I will be having anymore chances to attend lectures and tutorials after this. Hang out with my En brothers more often. Next plan is to club with them, then go Penang with them. Well, other than that, nothing much special. Still active in sports and facebook, drinking and eating. Not to forget, still single and available. Alright guys, will update again after my Viva. Happy New Year and Gong Xi Fa Chai.

The United Way realized that it had never received a donation from the city's most successful lawyer. So a United Way volunteer paid the lawyer a visit in his lavish office.

The volunteer opened the meeting by saying, 'Our research shows that even though your annual income is over two million dollars, you don't give a penny to charity. Wouldn't you like to give something back to your community through the United Way ?'

The lawyer thinks for a minute and says, 'First, did your research also show you that my mother is dying after a long, painful illness and she has huge medical bills that are far beyond her ability to pay?'

Embarrassed, the United Way rep mumbles, 'Uh . . . no, I didn't know that.'

'Secondly,' says the lawyer, 'did it show that my brother, a disabled veteran, is blind and confined to a wheelchair and is unable to support his wife and six children?'

The stricken United Way rep begins to stammer an apology, but is cut off again.

'Thirdly, did your research also show you that my sister's husband died in dreadful car accident, leaving her penniless with a mortgage and three children, one of whom is disabled and another that has learning
disabilities requiring an array of private tutors?'

The humiliated United Way rep, completely beaten, says, 'I'm so sorry, I had no idea.'

And the lawyer says, 'So . . . if I didn't give any money to them, what makes you think I'd give any to you?

first.'

Another half hour passed before another relative asked, 'May we see the new
baby now?'

Growing impatient, they asked, 'Well, when can we see the baby?'

'When it cries!' she told them.

Presumptions

There is a legend of a woman who had a faithful dog. This dog was so faithful that the woman could leave her baby with it and go out to attend other matters. She always returned to find the child soundly asleep with the dog faithfully watching over him...

One day something tragic happened. The woman as usual, left the baby in the "hands" of this faithful dog and went out shopping. When she returned, she discovered rather a nasty scene. There was a total mess.

The baby's cot was dismantled and his nappies and clothes torn to shreds with bloodstains all over the bedroom where she had left the child and the dog.

Shocked, the woman wailed as she began looking for the baby. Presently, she saw the faithful dog emerging from the under the bed. It was covered with blood and licking its mouth as it had just finished a delicious meal.

The woman went berserk and assumed that the dog had devoured her baby.

Without much thought she clubbed the dog to death. But as she continued searching for the "remains" of her child, she beheld another scene.

Close to the bed was the baby who, although lying on bare floor, was safe. And under the bed the carcass of a jackal torn to pieces in what must have been a fierce battle between it and the dog which was now dead.

Then the reality hit the woman who now began to understand what took place in her absence. The dog fought to protect the baby from the ravenous jackal. It was too late for her now to make amends because in her impatience and anger, she had killed the faithful dog. A dog deserving praise and adoration that fought to save the life of her dear beloved child received death in return.

How often have we misjudged people and torn them to shreds with harsh words and even with physical assault before we have had time to evaluate the situation? It is called the sin of presumption. Presuming things are one way without taking the trouble to find out exactly what the situation really is. A little patience can drastically reduce major life long errors.

More points to ponder:

1. A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for!

2. Intelligence is like underwear. It is important that you have it, but not necessary that you show it off!

3. If your dreams determine your future, why not go to sleep now?

4. When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to look like a nail!

5. Never test the depth of the water with both feet!

As long as we are living in this world try to offer help as much as we can...

This is a lovely touching story - TAXI

I arrived at the address where someone had requested a taxi. I honked but no one came out. I honked again, nothing. So I walked to the door and knocked. 'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets..

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

'Would you carry my bag out to the car?' she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, and then returned to assist the woman. She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb.

She kept thanking me for my kindness. 'It's nothing', I told her. 'I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated'.. 'Oh, you're such a good boy', she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address, and then asked, 'Could you drive through downtown?'

'It's not the shortest way,' I answered quickly. 'Oh, I don't mind,' she said. 'I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice'. I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. 'I don't have any family left,' she continued. 'The doctor says I don't have very long.' I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.

'What route would you like me to take?' I asked. For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.

We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing. As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, 'I'm tired. Let's go now'

We drove in silence to the address she had given me.. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico.

Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her.

I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

'How much do I owe you?' she asked, reaching into her purse. 'Nothing,' I said.

'You have to make a living,' she answered.

'There are other passengers,' I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly. 'You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,' she said. 'Thank you.'

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life. I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought.

For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away? On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one

I cannot stop myself from sharing this with all of you.

Its all started when I received a call from someone claiming that he was from Maxis and he asked me to shutdown my phone for 2 hours for 3g update to take place. As I was rushing for a meeting, I did not question and shutdown my cell phone.

After 45 minutes I felt very suspicious since the caller did not even introduce his name. I quickly turned on my cell phone and I received several calls from my family members and the others were from the number that had called me earlier - 3954380.

I called my parents and I was shocked that they sounded very worried asking me whether I am safe. My parents told me that they had received a call from someone claiming that they had me with them and asking for money to let me free. The call was so real and my parents even heard 'my voice' crying out loud asking for help. My parent was at the bank waiting for next call to proceed for money transfer. I told my parents that I am safe and asked them to lodge a police report.

Right after that I received another call from the guy asking me to shutdown my cell phone for another 1 hour which I refused to do and hung up. They keep calling my cell phone until the battery had run down. I myself lodged a police report and I was informed by the officer that there were many such scams reported. MOST of the cases reported that the victim had already transferred the money! And it is impossible to get back the money.

Be careful as this kind of scam might happened to any of us!!! Those guys are so professional and very convincing during calls. If you are asked to shut down your cell phone for updates by the service provider, ASK AROUND! Your family or friends might receive the same call.

However, Dr Wu, who recently spoke with Mylife, has already reached 70 years old, and to our surprise, he still looks like a young and healthy man in his 50s.

Not only has he survived, but the doctor has maintained a healthy life. The cancer is all gone, and he said he's never caught a cold or other illness for 40 years. He has stopped going for blood tests.

"My body and feelings tell me I'm well, that I'm truly in good health," says Dr Wu.

His secret lies in the power of natural healing. Dr Wu always says that no wonder drug can cure diseases. But our own internal healing power, our immune system, can. And what can strengthen our immune system are simple foods from Mother Nature, and a healthy lifestyle. In his view, diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease can be overcome by changing the diet.

Dr Wu says people get sick because they eat the wrong foods. Fried food, for example, causes blockage in the arteries, bad circulation, cholesterol, and heart disease.

In his despair, Dr Wu picked up the Bible and prayed to God. Then the Bible fell to the floor, and he read the page it opened to carefully. The chapter talked about the days God created the Earth and everything needed for human beings. Then he created Adam and Eve, and told both of them that plants, vegetables and seeded fruits growing on Earth have been provided for them to eat.

"I thought about what I had eaten in the past - meat, fish, fried and grilled food, sweet cake, but God simply wanted us to eat vegetables and sour fruits. I was confused and doubted whether I would become weak if I ate too many vegetables and less meat," says Dr Wu.

Yet he decided to follow the Bible's guidance. He ate a lot of vegetables and fruits, drank clean water, and completely adjusted his lifestyle - his sleeping, breathing and exercise habits.

Nine months later, he went for a check-up, and surprisingly no cancer cells were detected.

The human body has the power to heal itself. The immune system has a self-defence mechanism to block and destroy bacteria or viruses that invade our bodies, while the self-healing mechanism will get us back on the road to recovery. When you have a cold and take medicine, the medication may kill the virus but your immune system will not fully function, and its efficiency will decrease. As a result, your body will be more vulnerable to germs.

Dr Wu's principle is to strengthen the immune system, and avoid medication as much as possible. In his book, he offers the following guidelines to good health:

1. Have at least three bowel movements a day.

Other health experts may advise one bowel movement a day, but Dr Wu says that's not enough. You need three to four bowel movements a day in order to excrete all the accumulated faeces from your intestine. Your liver will not be overburdened and it also helps reduce cholesterol in your body.

2. Drink at least three glasses of fruit or vegetable smoothies each day.

This is a way to ingest enough phytochemicals to strengthen the body's cells and immune system. Use not only the flesh, but also the skin and seeds of fruits and vegetables to make smoothies, as they are rich in phytochemicals.

Most of the fruit seeds have small amounts of cyanide which kill bacteria and viruses without damaging the body.

Actually the recommended smoothie diet is six glasses a day, two in the morning, one before lunch, two more in the afternoon, and one more before dinner. However, if that's too much, you may start with three glasses a day. Use a high powered blender (at least three horsepower) as it can release phytochemicals
from the fibre. It's best to choose sour fruits like green or red apples, grapes, pineapples, kiwi and lime.

3. Sunbathe 30 minutes daily.

We often hear that the Sun's UV rays will damage our skin, and many people apply sunblock before going out. But Dr Wu says the opposite. He says the UV rays will help convert cholesterol underneath the skin into vitamin A which helps moisten the skin and prevent skin cancer, and also vitamin D that helps prevent colds, osteoporosis, and certain kinds of cancer.

"Therefore, use the Sun. Expose yourself to sunlight about one-half hour a day, at noon or another appropriate time based on your local climate. The Sun will make you healthier," says Dr Wu.

4. Exercise 30 minutes a day.

Don't exercise for more than 30 minutes. If you go beyond that, your body will be overworked.

"If you do it more than half an hour, that will become labour, not exercise. Your heart and your body will be working too hard," he says.

5. Shower with hot, then cold water.

Try an alternating cold and hot water shower: Three minutes of hot water followed by 30 seconds of cold water, then repeat twice more.

This process will bring a rush of blood and energy to your body. It helps increase your immune system, blood circulation, and metabolism.

6. Drink a lot of water, in the correct way.

How much water you need to drink each day depends on your specific situation. If your office is air-conditioned, drinking six glasses of water a day is enough. If your work involves lots of walking, you have to drink 8-10 glasses a day. If you work under the hot sun, then 10-12 glasses of water are required.

The way you drink is also important. The correct way is to sip it little by little, to give your body cells time to absorb the water. If you drink the whole glass down at once, your cells can't absorb it all, and the water will be excreted as urine.

7. Eat according to your blood type.

Your blood type determines what you should eat. Eating the wrong foods will make you sick.

People with blood type O have to eat a certain amount of meat. If they eat only vegetables for a long time, their body won't absorb all the substances they need
to strengthen their immune system. The recommended diet for this group is 75% vegetables, 10% fruits, 10% meat, seafood and goat's milk (avoid cow's milk), and 5% grains.

People with blood type A, however should avoid milk and meat, while increasing grains and fruits. People with blood type B should also avoid meat, while those with blood type AB should avoid chicken and beef.

8. Eat according to your biological clock.

Every human being has a biological clock that tells us when to eat, sleep, and wake up. If you don't follow your biological clock, the organs will lose their balance. Toxins and wastes won't be excreted from your body, and soon you'll get sick.

According to Dr Wu, the biological clock is divided into three phases.

From 4am to noon is the time for bowel movements, so in the morning you should eat foods with lots of fibre. Fruit and vegetable smoothies are recommended.

From noon to 8pm, your body will absorb food so lunch is the most important meal. A vegetable salad with grains is recommended. Fish or boiled eggs can be added to your lunch. Avoid meat at dinner as the amino acids in the meat will disturb your sleep. Try to finish dinner by 6pm.

From 8pm to 4am, the nutrients and energy from food will be distributed throughout your body organs. The golden time for your sleep is between 10pm and 2am, as your immune and self-healing system will function at its best.

Crabby Old Man Poem

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in North Platte, Nebraska, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, they found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital. One nurse took her copy to Missouri when she moved.

The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News Magazine of the St. Louis Association for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

Importance of TRUST

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.

A telephone operator told me that one day she received a phone call. She answered, "Public Utilities Board." There was silence. She repeated, "PUB." There was still no answer. When she was going to cut off the line, she Heard a lady's voice, "Oh, so this is PUB. Sorry, I got the number from my Husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is."

Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB".

Telling me interesting stories when I need companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest." The officer listened carefully and replied, "I understand you need television."

There is a saying that a perfect match can only be found between a blind wife and a deaf husband, because the blind wife cannot see the faults of the husband and the deaf husband cannot hear the nagging of the wife. Many couples are blind and deaf at the courting stage and dream of perpetual perfect relationship. Unfortunately, when the excitement of love wears off, they wake up and discover that marriage is not a bed of roses. The nightmare begins.

Many relationships fail because one party tries to overpower another, or demands too much. People in love tend to think that love will conquer all and their spouses will change the bad habits after marriage. Actually, this is not the case. There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "It is easier to reshape a mountain or a river than a person's character."

It is not easy to change. Thus, having high expectation on changing the spouse character will cause disappointment and unpleasantness.

It would be less painful to change ourselves and lower our expectations. .

RIGHT SPEECH

There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation." Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other, we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without considering if it would hurt the other party.

A friend and her millionaire husband visited their construction site. A worker who wore a helmet saw her and shouted, "Hi, Emily! Remember me? We used to date in the secondary school." On the way home, her millionaire husband teased her, "Luckily you married me. Otherwise you will be the wife of a construction worker." She answered,"You should appreciate that you married me. Other wise, he will be the millionaire and not you."

Frequently exchanging these remarks plants the seed for a bad relationship. It's like a broken egg - cannot be reversed.

PERSONAL PERCEPTION

Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison. A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home, a boy commented, "Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on the donkey? "Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them. Later, an old man saw it and commented, "The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?" Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey.

Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, "How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman."

The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey. Then, they met a young man. He commented, "Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you." Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders.

It seems to be the only choice left. Later, on a nar row bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river. You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you. Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future.

Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if our conscience is clear..

BE PATIENT

This is a true story which happened in the States. A man came out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment. When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital.

Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands. When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, "Daddy, I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "but when are my fingers going to grow back?" The father went home & committed suicide.

Think about this story the next time someone steps on your feet or u wish to take revenge. Think first before u lose your patience with someone u love. Trucks can be repaired.. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't. Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.

People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

I just thought to let know what my doctor told me recently. I don't think she was lying and neither am I, so please pass this on to your friends. Her clinic is in SS2 and you know how congested that place is.

One morning a few months ago in broad daylight, a girl was getting into her car when a few men approached her with what looked like a torchlight. Quite harmless looking. They pressed the "torchlight" into her back and immediately she went limp and very pale. So she wouldn't be able to fight back, they slashed her thigh with a parang and sped away in her car.

There were many people around and they quickly took her to the nearest clinic which was my doctor's clinic. There were two doctors at that time and they managed to stitch up her wound but the girl remained pulse-less and still pale as paper. No pulse, no BP blood pressure). Just like dead.

My doctors were confused as to how one wound on the thigh made the girl almost like dead? They managed to revive her and save her life.

After some checking around, the doctors found out what actually happened was that the girl was made unconscious not by a torchlight but actually a high voltage weapon. I forgot how many watts she mentioned. 1000? Anyway, it was high enough to kill a person by electrocution.

It seems this weapon is from China . It's not rampant in Malaysia ...yet; but with this thing, a person can rob, rape, kill, kidnap, and practically do anything to you. My doctor said that if he girl weren't taken to the clinic immediately she would have died because there was no pulse on her.

So please just beware of your surroundings, if anybody is lurking around with a torchlight-thingy and approaches you, just scream or run away. Better to be embarrassed than ZAPPED and fried, right? Take care.

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, When 24
Hours in a day is not enough, Remember the mayonnaise jar and
2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items
in front of him. When the class began wordlessly, he picked up a
very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with
golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it
was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them
into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the
open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again
if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if
the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'Yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space
between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize
that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things
- Family, Children, Health, Friends and Favorite passions – Things that if
everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be
full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your Job, House
and Car. The sand is everything else -- The small stuff. 'If you put the
sand into the jar first,' He continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles
or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and
energy on the small stuff, You will never have room for the things that
are important to you. So, pay attention to the things that are critical
to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical

No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious Chinese tourist walked to the window, had a peek, and in a thick Chinese accent asked 'You sell what?'

One of the men replied sarcastically, 'We're selling ass-holes.'

Without skipping a beat, the China man said, 'You doing velly well; only last two left!'

Five Regrets of the Dying

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives.

People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learned never to underestimate someone's capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them.

When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:

1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.

It is very important to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.

2. I wish I didn't work so hard.
This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children's youth and their partner's companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.

By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.

3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.

We cannot control the reactions of others. However, people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, but in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.

It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It is all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called 'comfort' of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to themselves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.

When you are on your deathbed, what others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.

Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly.

Choose happiness.

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other
stall saying: "Hi, how are you?"

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the men's restroom
but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed, "Doin' just fine!"

And the other guy says: "So what are you up to?"

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this
is too bizarre so I say: "Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I
hear another question. "Can I come over?"

Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could
just be polite and end the conversation. I tell him, "No........I'm a little busy right now!!!"

Then I hear the guy say nervously...

"Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other
stall who keeps answering all my questions!!!"

Lawyers and Farmers

The son of a cocky from outback Queensland goes off to study Law at university. Not half way through the semester he has blown all of his money on the high city life.

He calls home. 'Dad, you won't believe what modern education is developing. They actually have a program here in Brisbane Uni that will teach a dog how to talk.'

'Bloody amazing!' his Dad says. 'Could we get Ol' Blue into the program?'

'No worries, just send him down here with $2,000,' the young jackaroo says, 'I'll get him into the course.'

So father sends down the dog and $2,000.

About two-thirds through the semester, the money again runs out. The boy calls home. 'So how's Ol' Blue doing, son?' his father wants to know.

'Awesome Dad! He'd talk ya bloody head off. But you just won't believe this. He's such a brilliant talker, they'd like him to have a go in the reading class!'

'Read?' exclaims his father. 'No kidding! Jeez, I knew he was smart. Can you get Ol' Blue into that program?'

'Just send $4,500. He's as good as in.'

As quick as the money arrives, it is spent.

At the end of the term the young bloke realises a problem...When he goes home for the holidays, his father will find out the dog can neither talk nor read. So on the way home he stops and shoots the dog.

When he arrives home his father is all excited. 'Where's Ol' Blue? I just can't wait to talk with him and see him read something!'

'Dad,' the boy says, 'It all had a bad outcome. Yesterday morning, just before we left to drive home, Ol' Blue was in the living room reading the Wall Street Journal. Out of nowhere he turned to me and asked, 'So, is your dad still rooting that little redhead barmaid from the pub?''

The father groans and whispers, 'I'll have to shoot that bastard before he blabs to your Mother!'

'I already did, Dad!'

'Good boy!'

The kid went on to be a successful lawyer.

Went back Kampar last Tuesday,

attended a farewell party as some of drinking buddies are leaving Utar.

Sad huh? But it was a fantastic night.

Some of us got drunk,

some did not.

As for me, I got drunk but not as drunk as I went to Lush last semester. =)

Other than that, sports as usual.

Badminton, football with my kaki over here.

Attended relatives wedding dinner.

Boring boring boring!

BUT I'm glad that I get to know a bunch of new friends from

TARC.

Went MIST with them, it was a splendid night

even though it did not start off well.

I managed to enjoy myself with them,

took some pictures with them.

Missing you guys!!!

Next will be family trip to Kemaman!

Hey guys, I'm sorry for not updating about my life lately. Was a little busy with assignments and FYP. Final is just around the corner, before I begin with my revision, just want to update you guys what happened lately. First of all, my team managed to win the futsal event in the Sports Carnival organized by Utar. A few of my teammates are in their final semester and this will be their last chance to win it. And we are extremely happy that we made it!! Things did not go well from start but we managed to build the confidence and self-belief that we can make it. Leong was shaky at first but he transformed to be a fantastic goalkeeper later on. This proves that we must believe our teammates and have confidence in them. I'm proud of you guys!!! =D

The Jobstreet Futsal Tournament which held in Ktar last two weeks, last minute I joined Wayne's team. The team consists 8 players, Wen Fong (Keeper), Ah Kai, Patrick, Jason Tan, Alcolic Loon, Yong, Neo and lastly me. Luck has been on our side throughout the tournament, we manged to get into a group where the opponents are not strong. Then, quater final, semi final...we managed to skip tough teams!! The final game, we played against CHUI SUI TEAM. They are strong and good, especially their key player KENNY NG. I failed to score any goals in quater and semi final but I scored two brilliant goals in final game. The winning goal will be one of the goals that I will remember for life. Volley the ball into the net after a lobbing pass from Patrick. We won 2-1! I can still recall the thrilling moment that night. It was fantastic, the team won! I was named the BEST PLAYER. It will go down as one of the best achievement! I've done my family proud especially my dad. He showed me how to lead a team, how to be a good and effective leader! Thanks dad! And also to all the teammates!! =) A job well done!

Celebrated several birthdays, Christopher's birthday, Joan's birthday, Chuilynn's birthday. Happy birthday all!!!! Chris's bdae was awesome as we tied him up against a tree and tortured him by drawing stg on his body. It was a memorable bdae isn't it Chris? The pic showed that how happy was Chris. LOL. Brothers for life!! =)

John, AhKai, Ah Yang, Khong Zhi, Chris and Kerwei came my place with a cake. It was a surprise and I'm touched that you guys came! Love you guys. =)

Here, we are enjoying a soup cooked by Wei Zhi. It was YUMMYLICIOUS!! =)

My daughter and I went through the McDonald's take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter...
She said, 'you gave me too much money.'
I said,'Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back.'
She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request.
I did so, and he handed me back the quarter, and said 'We're sorry but they could not do that kind of thing.' The clerk then proceeded to give me back 75 cents in change.

Do not confuse the clerks at McD's.

IDIOT SIGHTING:

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, 'Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.' I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and he said, 'NOOO, it's not. Four is larger than two....'

We haven't used Sears repair since. Happened in Ottawa.

IDIOT SIGHTING:

I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbour call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: 'Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.'

Appalled, she responded, 'What on earth are blind people doing driving?!'

When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the drivers side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. 'Hey,' I announced to the technician, 'its open!'
His reply, 'I know. I already got that side.'

For years, business and motivational gurus have known that there are basic habits that seem to predict professional success and excellence. Books like "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", by motivational speaker and business guru Stephen Covey, PhD has sold over 15 million copies alone, to people hungry for the secrets of success.

We don't yet have the perfect formula for long life, happiness and physical health, but a little careful distillation of the massive amount of research on health and longevity reveals that cultivating nine basic habits will significantly increase the odds of your living long, well and happily, in a robust, healthy, weight-appropriate body.

1. Eat your vegetables. No kidding. And I'm talking at least 9 servings a day.. Unless you're following the most stringent first stage of the Atkins Diet, you should be able to consume 60-120 grams of carbs a day (depending on your weight and exercise level), and you'd have to eat a stockyard full of spinach to get to that amount. Every major study of long-lived, healthy people shows that they eat a ton of plant foods. Nothing delivers antioxidants, fiber, flavonoids, indoles, and the entire pharmacopia of disease fighting phytochemicals like stuff that grows.

2. Eat fish and/or take fish oil. The Omega-3's found in cold-water fish like salmon deserve the title of "wellness molecule of the century". They lower the risk of heart disease, they lowerblood pressure, they improve mood and they're good for the brain. And if you're pregnant, they may make your kid smarter!

3. Connect. And I'm not talking about the internet. In virtually every study of people who are healthy and happy into their 9th and 10th decade, social connections are one of the "prime movers" in their life. Whether church, family, volunteer work or community, finding something you care about that's bigger than you that you can connect with and that involves other people (or animals) will extend your life, increase your energy, and make you happier. Only always.

4. Get some sun. At least 10-15 minutes three times a week. Interestingly, a recent study of four places in the globe where people lived the longest and were the healthiest noted that all four places were in sunny climates. Sun improves your mood and boosts levels of cancer-fighting, performance-enhancing, bone-strengthening vitamin D, a vitamin most people don't get nearly enough of.

5. Sleep Well. If you're low in energy, gaining weight, grumpy and looking haggard, guess what?- chances are you're not sleeping nearly long enough nor well enough. By sleeping "well", I mean uninterrupted sleep, in the dark, without the television on, in a relaxing environment. Nothing nourishes, replenishes and restarts the system like 7-9 hours sleep. Hint: start by going to bed an hour early. And if you've got a computer in the bedroom, banish it.

6. Exercise every day. Forget this 20 minutes three times a week stuff. Long lived people are doing things like farm chores at 4:30 in the morning! Our Paleolithic ancestors traveled an average of 20 miles per day. Our bodies were designed to move on a regular basis. New studies show that merely 30 minutes a day of walking not only reduces the risk of most serious diseases, but can even grow new brain cells!

7. Practise Gratitude. By making a list of things you're grateful for, you focus the brain on positive energy. Gratitude is incompatable with anger and stress. Practise using your under-utilized "right brain" and spread some love. Focusing on what you're grateful for - even for five minutes a day - has the added benefit of being one of the best stress -reduction techniques on the planet.

8. Drink red wine or eat red grapes. The resveratrol in dark grapes is being studied for its effect on extending life, which it seems to do for almost every species studied. (So does eating about 1/3 less food, by the way.) If you've got a problem with alcohol, you can get resveratrol from grapes, peanuts or supplements. (And if you're a woman, and you choose the alcohol option, make sure you're getting folic acid every day.)

9. Get the sugar out. The number one enemy of vitality, health and longevity is not fat, it's sugar. Sugar's effect on hormones, moods, immunity, weight and possibly even cancer cells is enormous, and it's all negative. To the extent that you can remove it from your diet, you will be adding years to your life and life to your years.

This list may not be perfect and it may not be complete, but it's a start. As my dear grandmother used to say, "Couldn't hurt". Not one of these "habits" will hurt you, all will benefit you, and some may make the difference between life and death.

And it's never too late to start cultivating them.

Here are six reasons why you should think before you speak - The last one is great! Have you ever spoken and wished that you could Immediately take the words back...Or that you could crawl into a hole?
Here are the Testimonials of a few people who did....

FIRST TESTIMONY:
I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow and asked loudly, 'How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?' I turned around and walked back out and never went back. My husband didn't say a word... He knew better.

SECOND TESTIMONY:
I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls. I was unhappy with the women's type I had been using. After browsing for several minutes, I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who works at the store. He asked if he could help me. Without thinking, I looked at him and said, 'I think I like playing with mens balls'

THIRD TESTIMONY:
My sister and I were at the mall and passed by a store that sold a variety of candy and nuts. As we were looking at the display case, the boy behind the counter asked if we needed any help. I told her that if she did not start behaving 'right now' she would be punished. To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as threatening, 'If you don't let me go right now, I will tell Grandma that I saw you kissing Daddy's pee-pee last night!' The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange. Even the tellers stopped what they were doing. I mustered up the last of my dignity and walked out of the bank with my daughter in tow. The last thing I heard when the door closed behind me, were screams of laughter.

FIFTH TESTIMONY:
! Have you ever asked your child a question too many times? My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and I was on him constantly. One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch, in between errands. It was very busy, with a full dining room. While enjoying my taco, I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my seven-month-old daughter, she was clean. Then I realized that Danny had not asked to go potty in a while. I asked him if he needed to go, and he said 'No'. I kept thinking 'Oh Lord, that child has had an accident, and I don't have any clothes with me.' Then I said, 'Danny, are you SURE you didn't have an accident?' 'No,' he replied. I just KNEW that he must have had an accident, because the smell was getting worse. Soooo, I asked one more time, 'Danny did you have an accident? This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants, Bent over, spread his cheeks, And yelled, 'SEE MOM, IT'S JUST FARTS!!'
While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down. An old couple made me feel better, thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST TESTIMONY:
This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks.
What happens when you predict snow but don't get any? We had a female news anchor that, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: 'So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?' Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard!

In Singapore , the majority of us live in Highly Dangerous Buildings(HDB), and most people have already got used to Paying and Paying(PAP).

Not only do you have to pay, you Pay Until Bankrupt
(PUB). ?

If that's not enough, somebody still Purposely Wants to Dig(PWD) and get more from you.

So what more can you do when you are in the Money Only Environment (MOE)?

With the current Mad Accounting System (MAS), you are forced to Pay the Sum Ahead (PSA), which will leave some people Permanently Owing Some Banks (POSB).

And forced to live on the Loan Techniques Always (LTA) system. When you fall sick and happen to be admitted to a Money Operating Hospital(MOH).

You might be able to use your Cash Prior to Funeral (CPF) fund.

If you are out of luck, you may meet doctors who Never Use Heart (NUH) to treat you, and you will be Sure to Give up Hope(SGH).

To help ease the traffic, motorists have to pay Cash On Expressway(COE)...

If that doesn't help, they can always Eternally Raise Prices (ERP)on the roads.

If you don't own a car, you can always make a Mad Rush to the Train(MRT), OR get squashed in a bus Side By Side (SBS ).

Lastly, under all these pressures, there are not many places we can relax, not even the good old place we used to go because it has become So Expensive and Nothing To See Actually (SENTOSA)!!!

Obituary

An Obituary printed in the London Times - Interesting and sadly rather true.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to
get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;

Something To Think About!

Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest:
Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400.00 in
your private account for your use.

However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules.

The first set of rules would be:
Everything that you didn't spend during each day
would be taken away from you.

You may not simply transfer money into some other account.
You may only spend it.

Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400.00 for that day.

The second set of rules:
The bank can end the game without warning; at any
time it can say, Its over, the game is over!

It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?
You would buy anything and everything you wanted, right?
Not only for yourself, but for all people you love, right?

Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself, right?
You would try to spend every cent, and use it all, right?

ACTUALLY, this GAME is REALITY!

Each of us is in possession of such a magical bank. We just
can't seem to see it.

The MAGICAL BANK is TIME!

Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift
of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time
is NOT credited to us.

What we haven't lived up that day is forever lost.

Yesterday is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can
dissolve your account at any time....WITHOUT WARNING.

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Aren't they worth so much more than the same amount
in dollars?

Think about that, and always think of this:
Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by
so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be Happy, Love Deeply and enjoy life!

GRANDPA in Australia

A Pakistani family was considering putting their grandfather Abdullah in a nursing home.

All the Pakistani facilities were completely full so they had to put him in an Australian home.

After a few weeks in the Australian facility, they came to visit Grandpa.

''How do you like it here?'' asks the grandson.

''It's wonderful! Everyone here is so courteous and respectful'', says grandpa.

''We're so happy for you. We were worried that this was the wrong place for you. You know, since you are a little different from everyone.''

''Oh, no! Let me tell you about how wonderfully they treat the residents'', Abdullah says with a big smile.

''There's a musician here-- he's 85 years old. He hasn't played the violin in 20 years and everyone still calls him *'Maestro'! *

There is a judge in here -- he's 95 years old. He hasn't been on the bench
in 30 years and everyone still calls him *'Your Honour'! *

There's a dentist here -- 90 years old.. He hasn't fixed a tooth for 25
years and everyone still calls him *Doctor?! *

And response to "Fair Assessment-- - China is not a Superpower-- -Not Yet" by Helen Wang (from the US), perhaps you should read the following poem "An Awakening Message" by D.L. Lin (also from the US), dated April 2008.

When Japan was economically successful, it was Japan bashing . Now its China bashing when China is getting a bit successful. If you haven't heard of China bashing before, the above poem pretty much summarised it. In the following paragraphs, I'll try to clarify some of the facts and mindsets about China , hoping they can help some people to understand. The West ( US & formerly Europe & Britain) practice hegemony and don't seem to care what the third world feel at all. Third world countries have a right to grow, be strong and be successful too!

Inspite of the last 30 years of advance in city infrastructure and other hardwares, China is still a very poor country of 1.3 billion including a poverty-stricken farming population of 650 million, and a corrupt /backward government. Anyone who have been to China can see that. We in HK are so close to China that we probably know it better than anyone else. But the West blows the whole thing out of proportion, calling China a Superpower, and a threat, which is simply not the case. Author Helen Wang rightly pointed out in her book, saying...... .. China is in many ways, too backward to qualify as a superpower.. ......it has a long way to go. However what she should realise is that the West is using the rise of a Superpower as a covenient pretext to blame and bash China for their own economic woes and diplomatic failures. Yet business is business. Trade still go on as long as there is a profit.

As far as I can see, China has a lot of catching up to do. China has more internal problems than it can handle. China is more involved in solving its own problems, such as feeding its millions, providing them with jobs, keep the rich/poor gap narrow down , fighting corruption & inflation, and give people a decent living .....etc etc. So far the progress made are stained with blood ,sweat and tears. Every time one uses an INTEL, HP or Apple, there are many parts inside that are made in China 's sweat shops. This is just one example which is all over the news in recent days. Cheap products from China actually kept US inflation down for years! Sounds like a win/win situation. However what does the average worker gets for assembling the IC chips....... ...a mere US$120/m. They work very hard, but very very sad. I have stories to tell........ much later.

Its really a conspiracy of the West to contain China from expansion, just like containing the Soviet Union from expansion in the Cold War days. Why is there a European Union and NATO, SEATO and other alliances? Its the post -WWII Western strategy to contain the two communist giants, a strategy which is still in force today, but rather out-dated, since Russia and China are no longer communists. Why does the US has over one thousand military bases around the world and seven fleets patrolling the seas? ( China has none.) Because the politicians in the West have to justify their governments' expenditure on the military. Because the arms dealers and manufacturers have to lobby the politicians to sell their weapons. Because the Western nations want to perpetuate a Western dominant world. Fair assessment?

200 years ago , after fallen behind the West , China was attacked by Britain first, then plundered, looted, colonised by a league of 8 nations , even conquered by Japan. The next 100 years, China suffered 2 revolutions, 2 World Wars, plus Civil War and internal struggle, China , as a nation , is flatout, downtrodden, and experiencing total collapse . All it wants now is to rebuild a country from its pieces , to give its people food, shelter, clothing , a decent life and restore some dignity to a "sick" nation. What can be more noble and humanistic than that? Many people do think China 's leaders deserve to be awarded a Nobel Peace Price for their contribution to lead a quarter of mankind out of poverty and starvation! President Gorbachev received a Nobel Peace Price for liberating the Soviet Union in 1989, a huge political change for Eastern Europe . I think China 's achievement is more internal, but economical change is just as great if not greater. Why the West are so negative about China ! Fair assessment or not?

What about the arms race? The US and Russia have enough nuclear arsenal to destroy the world ten times over. But China can hardly defend itself against the real Superpowers. China just want to stand on its own two feet, and not being bullied by any other powers. If one should understand the Chinese mindset, our culture of Confucius, Mencius, Laotze, Chuangtze and Buddha, all teaches harmony among men, harmony between men and nature...... ...what 5000 years of history has taught us that wars and killings will not solve any problems, but will create more problems. Thats why China's leaders kept stressing China's position is not to seek the first strike in any conflict, a sharp contrast to some other country's "pre-emptive trike" mindset. China has not invaded any country in the last 200 years. China has not one soldier combating abroad today. It seems that China may not want to be a Superpower now. Its Economics 101 ......guns or butter? The answer is clear.

Guess I spoke enough...... ...not in defence or accusation, but to help international understanding.

These two pics showed a big step forward in our relationship.
My dad doesn't really care about my personal life until now, he remembers your name,
will ask and talk about you sometime when Im in KL.
My mom knows more about you. My parents are cool about the
relationship. My dad is the most surprising package though.

I know at times I treated you harshly and strictly, I know
you dislike the way I handled certain things.
I sensed that there is a need of change in my behavior especially handling certain things.
Sometimes, I got emo and agitated easily because I care about you.

July and August are quite important as I have to time myself and plan according to my tight schedule. Baby is leaving on August, gonna miss her real bad. YOU HEAR ME!! Im gonna miss you real bad.....

Another Poisonous Plant

Do you have this plant at home? beware of it coz too hazard to health! Hey frenz...some of you don't read Chinese language but never mind, pls take note coz this is really too alarming to be ignored & i must share w/u guys...

Basically this article warns abt the highly poisonous plant as shown below...so pls be aware now that it seems too hazardous to be placed at home, in office or anywhere near our dwelling places!

Apart fr the poison in the sap of the leaves which causes irritation, inflamation or swelling of the face & jaw esp those with allergic skin when come into contact, this plant is useless in terms of air purification, absorption of other harmful or even cancer causing gases in the air e.g.CO2, CH2O(Formaldehyde)，C2-H-Cl3(Trichloroethylene）...in fact, even the soil where the plant used to grow wld also turn poisonous! So, don't use the soil to plant veggies. Even, insects, ants will not go near to this plant.

Oh dear! too bad, so sad :( don't u think?....such a nice, strong yet elegant plant liked by many just like myself! Incidentally, the Chinese particularly loves this plant owing to it's common name "Gold Coin" tree I guess?? & its glamor & popularity are so amazing during CNY time...esp w/little red ribbons tied to its branches!

Anyway for now, just to be safe, probably we can only be "distant admirers" of this lovely plant ya!

金钱树 (泽米芋) —— 珍宝还是无形杀手?

相信网友曾经看过这观叶植物。

泽米芋——学名为Zamioculcas　zamiifolia ，又名金钱树、雪铁芋、泽米叶天南星、龙凤木，为天南星科、雪铁芋属的罕见观叶植物，作为一种以观叶为主的常绿草本植物。它原产于非洲东部，为林下多年生植物，耐荫、耐旱，怕高湿，怕低温、怕雨淋。金钱树，其实不是树。树一般都是木本，而金钱树却是多年生常绿草本植物。

为何被称作“金钱树”或“金币树”呢？它这令人诱人的名字，不管你上看下看，左看右看，完全没有一点像金钱的样子。它的叶子是卵形冠上金钱两字，会不会有点不伦不类。其拉丁文的种加词“zamiifolia”，意为“泽米叶的”，也就是说它是一种叶片同泽米苏铁（Zamia　furfuracea）很相似的天南星类植物，即“泽米叶天南星”。
“金钱”、“金币”之名，可能与其叶轴上的叶片形状、质地、排序有关，它的圆筒形叶轴粗壮而肥腴，其上的小叶呈偶数羽状排列，且叶质厚实、叶色光亮，宛若一挂串连起来的钱币。

金钱树是近年来流行起来的观赏花卉。不论走到任何行业的店铺，办公室或者住宅区，很容易发现到金钱树。有人还自认载种金钱树觉得很自豪，却不知道夺命符已一步一步接近你，其杀伤力分分钟会在你的健康爆发。

金钱树是一种剧毒植物。它的毒比断肠草还要更毒。它的叶汁沾在敏感皮肤上，五官，牙床，会肿胀。对一些曾叶在荒野生长的泽米芋，飞禽走兽，蜂蝶爬虫都不会接近它，同时生长在周边的植物，也会枯死，可见其毒无比。所以，发现有其他可以食用的草本同盆生长，希望大家千万记得别採来药用，否则会死得不明不白。家有此类植物的人士，绝对要小心处理。不要把载种金钱树泥土加入其他食用本草中，它的毒素仍然留在泥土中。

如果你家买了此类植物，最好把它摆远一点，不要让老小接触到它。金钱树也不要放在窗下，它的毒气会影响房中人的健康。如果你不舍弃种，最好多种两三盆虎尾兰，巴西铁树，吊兰等。它们不但可以净化，吸收漂浮在空中有害的气体，二氧化碳 CO2，甲醛 CH2O （Formaldehyde），三氯乙烯C2-H-Cl3（Trichloroethylene）等致癌的气。

人人都视为它如珍宝，都认为摆一盆可招财。若真有效力，那就不会为钱而烦恼，天下再没有穷人，也不会缺钱而向阿隆借钱，更不会有人为钱而死。

千富万富，健康才是真正的财富…… ！
